I haven't read a cozy for some time. I had forgotten how enjoyable they can be. Curses, Boiled Again! by Shari Randall is one of the good ones. It takes place in the seaside hamlet of Mystic Bay 'where the fish is always fresh, the folks are ever-friendly, and murder is on a roll ...' A lobster roll, that is.

I drooled through most of this delightful cozy. Fresh lobster rolls, homemade chowder, fantastic breakfast cake. Sounds like my kind of town.

Ballerina Allie Larkin returns to her hometown of Mystic Bay to give her broken ankle a chance to heal. She starts work wearing a healing boot at her Aunt Gully's lobster shack. When a Lobster Festival is hosted by a cooking network, Gully and staff at her lobster shack are sure they can win the competition for the best lobster roll – which, of course, would bring them lots of free advertising.

What could go wrong, always does. While four judges test the four competitors' lobster rolls, one of them falls ill and dies. Something poisonous was sprinkled on the rolls.

Allie, boot and all, enters the fray, determined to solve the mystery that the police can't seem to sort out. Curses, Boiled Again! will satisfy your desire for a well-written cozy, with a good plot and believable characters, whom you wish lived in your own hometown.
