T
he eighth Donovan Nash thriller, from first page to the last, will keep you on the edge of your chair as you read of a fictional occurrence that could quite possibly become fact some day - a meteor shower lands, piece by piece, chunk by flaming chunk, near Monterey Bay, California, destroying everything in its burning path.
I
t is beginning to look as though the whole coast of Monterey Bay will be wiped out completely – everything; cars, boats, houses, shops, restaurants, marinas, docks, trees, and, most importantly, human life. Donovan worries that the band of survivors with him will not make it. He feels, of course, that he is in charge of getting them out of a precarious situation in one piece. His wife, Dr. Lauren McKenna, is in a similar situation, but neither knows whether the other has survived. Lauren, however, feels she might have a solution to save many lives.
E
motions run at a very high level as the reader understands that this novel's scenario could really happen. We're talking flaming meteors raining down like a fiery thunderstorm. Author Donlay tells the story of people caught in a deadly situation and how they handle whatever needs handling.
Speed the Dawn
reads like a report rather than fiction. Suspense in this well-written and thrilling novel will keep you on tenterhooks for the duration of the read.
