She had a younger brother, Ben, who could not accept that she was gone. He simply had to know what happened to her. Then, on the first anniversary of her disappearance, he discovered her body in a deep grave by the river's edge. Now seventeen, Ben commits himself to discovering who could have abducted and strangled his sister. Police are sure she was a victim of a psychopath known as the Demon. Ben doesn't agree with the local constabulary. I must mention that Ben is a math geek who is probably too smart for high school classes. As Ben pores over evidence, a school mate, Ro Majors, joins him in tracking the monster who strangled Ben's older sister. More girls disappear. The clues the murderer leaves behind only push Ben and Ro to dig deeper into who could be doing the killing. If you are familiar with Faye Kellerman's work, you know you are in for a good read. If she is a new author to you, take my word for it, this book will make you a fan. It's satisfyingly long, full of characters who could have been pulled from real life, suspenseful to the very last page, a thriller to keep you up nights. If well-written suspense is your bag, don't miss Killing Season by Faye Kellerman. She has a long list of mystery novels to her credit, including her wonderful series featuring Decker and Lazarus.
