ow Evelyn has established maximum-security facility Hanover House, where serial killers are imprisoned and studied, in the small Alaskan town of Hilltop. , who used an ice pick to lobotomize his victims and make them malleable. When one of Evelyn's school classmates is killed with an ice pick, she's sure that Jasper is sending her a message. And readers see his steady preparations to come after her, after twenty-one years of keeping in the shadows. As more of her old friends die, Evelyn grows increasingly anxious, but is she worrying about the wrong killer?
