I grew up on the Main Line outside of Philadelphia, considered the posh side of town. We sure weren't posh, but the characters depicted in Amy Korman's Killer Holiday certainly are. Or at least are trying to be, while living the good life.

Many of this small group of big time pretenders live high on the hog and then must count pennies until they make a few big sales in their small but expensive shops. They know everyone in their part of the Main Line and if they aren't talking to their friends they are talking about their friends. Gossip is high on their priority list.

Christmas is just around the corner and the group is planning a merry party. When Sophie's expensive handbag is blasted by a bullet, no one is hurt except the handbag. But this puts a damper on plans. Then, someone dressed as Santa shatters a local golf shop owner's car windshield. The difference between the incidents is that the window is broken and a note left behind, which reads that $50,000 must be delivered the next night!

Even the wealthy can't raise that much cash overnight. To give this small group of friends heartburn, another member returns home from a cruise with a new boyfriend and a suitcase full of gold bars. Need I mention that boyfriend and gold bars disappear? An all-out effort is made to rectify this. Read Killer Holiday, fourth in the series, and discover the methods used to right a wrong. It's a fun book.
