M
y teenage sons love these stories, especially after watching the initial episodes of the WB TV series on DVD. This time, Clark volunteers to be
Flunky Number Two
in the school play,
Cyrano de Bergerac
, in order to spend time with Lana Lang, who is on the stage crew. Unfortunately the play's spoilt leading lady, Dawn Mills, fancies herself as a femme fatale and picks Clark as her next victim.
T
he catalyst that takes the tale out of the ordinary and into the
Twilight Zone
, is a stone collected by Dawn's rock hound little sister. Dawn discovers that she can use it to disappear and proceeds to abuse her new-found power, big time. This is a seriously disturbed young woman, who viciously attacks any who get in her way, from her current boyfriend and '
Greek chorus
' of
friends
to the love of Clark's life, Lana Lang.
L
ex Luthor has a role this time too, training Clark to play a swordsman and advising him that '
Acting is about baring your soul under the protective cloak of someone else's life.
' Young Superman's friends Chloe and Pete have minor roles, adding to their
Wall of Weird
. And, as usual, events quickly spiral out of control so that only Clark can save the day - by sacrificing his own big chance to impress his schoolmates and Lana. Of course he does the right thing.
