I
am not sure if I remembered to breathe while I was reading
A Soldier's Revenge
by Matthew Dunn. I think I took a deep breath as I started the first page and let that breath out when I finished the last. Boy, talk about thrillers! This is the thriller of the year in my humble estimation.
W
ill Cochrane wakes in a hotel room in New York City covered with blood! He discovers it is not his own. A woman, her face destroyed by gun fire, lies dead in a bathtub and his bloody fingerprints are prominent throughout the hotel room. He escapes from the nightmare and becomes a wanted man.
H
is plans had been to adopt ten-year-old twin boys, sons of an army friend who was killed in Afghanistan. His plans delayed, he now needs to find who killed that woman and why. Obviously to incriminate him. But, again, why? As bodies pile up, the action increases along with a good helping of suspense, excitement, thrills, and downright skulduggery. I kid you not.
T
oo much happens to Will for a synopsis. I admire the man. He sees a wrong and tries to make it right. His priorities are always with the wronged person. He suffers blow after blow and slogs on.
A Soldier's Revenge
is the sixth of the Will Cochrane series. I do so hope author Dunn has more thrills to come for his readers to enjoy.
