Dash and Lily's relationship is approaching a one year anniversary. They met during Christmas, the year before, and now Christmas is approaching again, but things have changed for both of them. Especially for Lily.

Dash and Lily's Book of Dares chronicles the beginning of Dash and Lily's relationship. A lot has happened in the year since it all began. Lily is growing up and her world is changing. In May, her granddad had a fall and a minor heart attack which Lily faced alone because her parents were in a foreign country, her brother was in class, and Dash just didn't answer his phone.

Depressed at the changes in her life, Lily cares for her granddad, runs her dog walking service, studies, and volunteers, but without the usual enthusiasm that makes Lily special to those around her. Dash is feeling left out. With the clock ticking its way towards Christmas, the changes in Lily are evident. This year, she's not even trying to keep up her cherished traditions.

Worried, Lily's brother, Langston – who is no fan of Dash – enlists his help to bring back the Lily they both know and love. Dash works at getting their relationship back on track, but not everything goes according to plan. We see things through Dash's point of view and then jump to Lily, who has her own take on what is happening.

It was exciting to have another glimpse into the lives of Dash and Lily. I'm a fan of both Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. Together they are unstoppable. Written with tremendous humor, this is a great Christmas read.
