Shattered Warrior    by Sharon Shinn & Molly Knox Ostertag Order:  USA  Can First Second, 2017 (2017) Softcover      Reviewed by Ricki Marking-Camuto Sharon Shinn is well known for fantasy, but with the help of Molly Knox Ostertag's illustrations, she makes the shift to sci-fi flawlessly in Shattered Warrior, a story of a shattered world and one young woman's desire to hold on to what is left. Shattered Warrior is at once straightforward and yet highly nuanced. The world-building is superb; the characters are very dimensional; and the romance melds effortlessly with the plot. Ostertag's artwork really brings Shinn's story to life and conveys so much in so little - I cannot imagine one existing without the other. Shattered Warrior is a complete tale, but I do hope Sharon Shinn and Molly Knox Ostertag team up again in the future for more great sci-fi adventures.
