A
lice Madison has been on the Seattle Police Department long enough to be called by her last name – two years. She brings baggage to the force but more than manages to hold up her end of a partnership with another cop.
A
vicious serial killer is in the Seattle area and seems to enjoy what he does very much. He bludgeons his victims to death. In doing so, the killer not only executes his carefully selected victim but he also destroys their facial identity.
V
alentina Giambanco's
Blood and Bone
weaves a tale of this killer as he carefully selects his next victim while the police are stymied. A local burglary definitely appears to be more than a home invasion with some minor pieces of jewelry stolen. The homeowner is found brutally and viciously beaten to death.
P
olice feel this crime is the work of the same serial killer who has plagued Seattle for years. It seems he has escalated his schedule. Trying to find and stop this person is the main goal of the police. In their search even Madison comes under scrutiny. I'm sure you will be as surprised as I was to read the ending. Never saw that coming.
I
have not read author Valentina Giambanco's first and second books –
The Gift of Darkness
and
The Dark
. I must correct that oversight. I am sure they are both as compelling and suspenseful as
Blood and Bone
. A good read.
