Crime Plus Music, edited by Jim Fusilli, presents the reader with a bit more than twenty fine mysteries – music! As each story is read, the reader can imagine lovely and lively music playing in the background. An intriguing idea. Music also plays a major role in each story. And does it well. The lineup of authors is impressive. To name a few: Craig Johnson, David Liss, Val McDermid, Peter Robinson. Twenty authors – each with their own version of crime mixed with music. Rock and Pop music predominates. This was a far-out idea that works as expected - crime of every form playing alongside music of every form is a great idea that gives readers many hours of enjoyment. Editor Jim Fusilli is a music critic for the Wall Street Journal as well as the author of seven novels and two non-fiction works.
