ark Chadwick, Associated Press White House Correspondent, is at a White House press briefing when there is an attack by a drone! Three people are killed but the President and First Lady are whisked to an undisclosed location. This is where Lark's life becomes very complicated.

Her photographer, Doug Miller, is a man she is interested in but somehow their relationship is off kilter. Turns out that Doug is keeping a big secret about himself from her.

ark pursues clues that may or may not give her information about the big story that she is sure is out there. While she searches D.C. for people she wants to interview, she ends up on the scene when a man is shot to death. A tipster who has information about her boss is dragged out of the Potomac with rocks in her pockets. The First Lady wants to talk to Lark and reveals a closely guarded secret. And to top it off, Doug disappears from a News Correspondents Dinner!
