with her husband. She ignores his discreet affairs and he turns a blind eye to her lover, a young pilot named Octavian who fought in the skies over Europe.

ife becomes a little complicated for Theresa when her brother, Ox, indicates he wants to marry Sophie Fortescue. Determined to do a little digging to see if this would be a proper match, Theresa makes the mistake of asking her lover to check out the secretive Fortescue family. Not only does Octavian willingly agree to the project but he unwittingly falls under the spell of the attractive young woman as well as discovers a rather startling family secret.

ow this sets up a situation that places a number of relationships in jeopardy and promises to totally disrupt all the parties involved is the subject of this novel.
