Wednesday's Child by Peter Robinson is skillfully written with enough action to keep us all on the edge of our seats, along with beautifully written descriptive scenes to satisfy the poet in each of us. Robinson manages to place the reader in each scene with his mastery of crime writing. Wednesday's Child revolves around the abduction of an eight year-old girl with no demand for ransom. What would have been the point of one? Her single mother doesn't have a dime to her name. A young man's body is found in an abandoned lead mine. His murder is particularly heinous. Could the two crimes be connected in any way? Inspector Banks confers with many people – official and ordinary citizens. In so doing, he picks up clues and we learn of these possible suspects' appearances and personal lives. I almost felt as though I were one of the investigators, hoping to find the key clue to bring an end to these two crimes. Wednesday's Child. Don't miss it.
