From Costco to grocery store checkout lines, you'll certainly have no trouble finding this resurrected childhood pastime. And I'll let you in on a little secret; even before these books became wildly popular, I never did stop coloring. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Calgary, Alberta, Canada. An afternoon trip to the bookstore led me to Canada To Colour, the neatest coloring book I have come across. I grabbed a copy and a pack of nice colored pencils, looking forward to getting home and starting my trip across Canada ... from my living room. The drawings beautiful, intricate drawings are of the landscape, landmarks, and iconic animals of Canada. My first coloring page, the one I am still working on, a page of intricate leaves, reminds me of all the colorful leaves on the ground in the fall. The next page is a Whistler Mountain Inukshuk in British Columbia. I can't wait to start the page of the totem pole in Stanley Park. I've been lucky to visit these totems in the park and will get out my photos so I can get the colors just right. I'm looking forward to my coffee table turned coloring studio tour of Canada, as all the provinces are represented. As the book's description says you'll be coloring you way across Canada 'From Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia to the rugged shores of British Columbia to the majestic North.' I'll find it especially fun to color representations of the provinces I have visited thus far: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. Geography combined with the relaxation of coloring is a win-win; I get to learn and color ... and in my jammies if I want. The book is well crafted with one drawing per thick page, which makes it ideal to pull out your creation to frame if you wish. The pages are not fully bound to the spine-the spine folds back and in no way interferes with your artistic ventures. As far as I'm concerned this is the bees knees of coloring books!
