It's not to be taken at all seriously, but is hilarious throughout. Lindsey is in business with her BFF and partner Gemma. Returning from an unsuccessful bunch of estate sales, she's dismayed to learn that Gemma has taken initiative and used their nest egg to buy an an entire estate in Venice, Italy! Of course, they head there immediately. In the ancient apartment, Lindsey accidentally triggers a secret switch that opens up a wall, revealing a secret room shrouded in darkness. Stairs lead down to a room filled with treasures ... and a coffin. Inside it is a 'stunningly beautiful man', gripping a wooden stake. Rand is a vampire, naturally. Of course, Lindsey falls hard for him, once they get over the cultural and language issues. Rand asks her to be his blood vassal and help him find out who betrayed him, leading to further adventures. And humor, as when Rand feeds off a random encounter and Lindsey accuses, 'You just snatched someone off the street and used them as your personal Slurpee?' Eventually they come up against Rand's master, the uber powerful Dracula, but if they kill him, will Rand die too? Can Lindsey save herself, Gemma and Rand? It all becomes a matter of taste, and you'll have to read Between a Vamp and a Hard Place yourself to find the solution but it's definitely entertaining.
