This is not the only such case. It seems that first-time juvenile offenders are being shipped to private institutions! Who benefits from this turn of events? Could there possibly be political kick-backs? You bet. But how to prove it? Porter begins to suspect the Lombardi family, deep into long-term misdoings which, so far, have proven to be unassailable. Should Porter dip his toes in dangerous waters? Could those he loves be hurt by his fighting the system? Does he stand a chance of exposing a corrupt family? He asks himself if he truly wants to fight against corruption or is he struggling with his own guilt over his junkie brother's death? December Boys is full of thrills and suspense.
