The indomitable proprietor of Singapore's popular restaurant, Aunty Lee's Delights, is back again for her third adventure. Unable to reign in her tendency to engage in amateur sleuthing, Aunty Lee becomes embroiled in an investigation that involves animal rights advocates and some less than savory English expats.

When Allison Fitzgerald left Singapore, she departed under a cloud because of a scandal involving the killing of an adopted dog. Now she's back, intent on suing the people who made her first stay in the city so unpleasant. Unfortunately, Allison doesn't have a chance to exact revenge on those who made her life so miserable, for someone kills her in her hotel room.

With the dead woman's rather unpleasant sister demanding justice and some of her friends involved in the case, Aunty Lee decides to lend the local authorities a hand to see if she can figure out who is behind Allison's death.

It is a convoluted situation with plenty of dead ends and false leads, but that won't deter this feisty culinary wizard who likes to season her life with a little impromptu detective work.

She's a thoroughly likeable character with some slightly bizarre traits, and Aunty Lee's misadventures have drawn a wide audience of readers thus far. Her earthy wisdom, outspoken approach to relationships and wry sense of humor make her a one-of-a-kind personality, whom you can't help but want to follow as she delves into the dark side of human nature.
