river Kate Reilly arrives in Long Beach, California, anticipating the Grand Prix, only to find that a cousin she has despised (the feeling was mutual) has been murdered. Since she had dabbled in investigating several murders before, she is begged to do so one more time.
T
here appear to be a number of suspects; the man was not well liked by more than just Kate. She begins to feel she has bitten off much more than she can chew. Her very life may be in jeopardy!

ost of the words in this novel relate to racing; how it is done; what the drivers go through; what the pit crew accomplishes; how a race is won; the money that must back each car and driver; the mechanics of different models and makes of cars; and the euphoria that ensues when a win occurs.
T
he murder, however, is not forgotten. The culprit is found! Who it was proved to be a surprise to me.
