Margaret Holloway is caught in a gigantic pileup on a motorway outside London. She doesn't seem badly hurt but is sure that the car's on fire. Try as she might, she cannot get a door open. Margaret is certain she's going to burn to death!

Suddenly a disfigured face appears outside her car. The man punches the driver's side window with such a blow that it breaks the window and he is able to pull her through it, saving her life. As she tries to thank him, he simply disappears.

Margaret feels something is wrong but can't put her finger on it. She finally tracks down her savior in a hospital. He has new, raw burn scars as well as a broken arm caused by the blow to the window. She has flashbacks – not of the horrendous pileup – but from her childhood! What could have caused them? What happened that she has forgotten? Did she choose to forget?

Her savior is now part of these flashbacks of her past. How on earth did he fit in? She begins to visit the burned man – sure that he has an answer for her. Margaret has stepped into a mystery that could have ramifications for her whole family and realizes that she is hiding the truth from herself.

Lisa Ballantyne is the author of The Guilty One, which was very favorably received by the reading public. I'm sure Everything She Forgot will elicit the same response – a very good read.
