Reclusive Harriet Wolf wrote a series of six novels that became the rage of the literary world. She had intimated that there was a seventh book; but at her death this last book was not to be found. She had led a tumultuous life, starting from the time she was placed in the Maryland Home for Feeble Minded Children at the age of six. No one knew then that she placed as genius in IQ testing!

Matriarch of her family, she wrote the six books based on her own life story. Her daughter Ruth had run away from home at age sixteen. Tilton, the younger daughter, stayed home and became almost a duplicate of their mother. When Harriet was hospitalized, Ruth decided to return home and save Tilton from becoming a complete recluse.

While this is going on, Harriet, using italics, softly whispers her story to us, her readers. This is an intriguing story and one finds oneself trying to figure out whether there really is a seventh potential best seller hiding in the old family home or is it Harriet just playing with us all?

Harriet Wolf's Seventh Book of Wonders by Juliana Baggott will keep you guessing. Did she? Or didn't she write that highly anticipated book? And if so, where in the blue blazes is it?
