n extremely expensive tractor has disappeared from a gentleman farmer's locked barn. What appear to be bloodstains are found in a deserted World War II airport hangar. A horrific crash exposes dead human body parts as well as sheep carcasses being delivered to an incinerator. Strange happenings. Could they possibly be connected?

CI Banks steps into the mystery and uses his deductive powers to pull everything together. He is living alone and finds he is not too happy with that. He does good work but would like someone to share his life.

In the Dark Places
you might find in your local supermarket or the wee pub down the road. Robinson stretches out the really good story to its dénouement. Just wished it were stretched a little further. I hated to say goodbye to DCI Banks.
I
enjoyed the mystery and a delightful bonus to Robinson's books is the glance the reader gets of the lovely English countryside.
