ears ago I had a history professor who is Armenian. He would constantly mention the plight of his family and how unfairly they were treated. Along with the rest of the class, my nineteen year old self eventually tuned him out when he was on a rip about his past. We just did not understand and were too young and full of ourselves to really see beyond our own world and sometimes petty problems.

uckily with age comes maturity, wisdom, and a heightened sense of, and curiosity about, the world around us. I'm glad I had the opportunity to read
Operation Nemesis
. At times it is a tiring read and quite emotional. Our global history often is very violent and the Armenian Genocide is no exception.

he focus of this detailed historical account is the assassination of a Turkish national, Talat Pasha, by an Armenian student, Soghomon Tehlirian. Bogosian reveals the assassination plot to be well planned by a group out to avenge the Armenian Genocide.

here was so much I didn't know about the tension between the Turks and Armenians, and the causes, tensions, loss, and revenge of the Armenian Genocide. The assassins' plan of retribution was even named after the Greek goddess of retribution. I was glad to learn now what I had tuned out as a teenager.
