Yesterday's Echo
,I was hooked on the first page of
Night Tremors
. With continuous suspense, an exciting, well-laid plot, varied characters, and the ability to use descriptive words to slip readers into scenes, Coyle has another surefire hit on his hands.
R
ick Cahill does private investigative work. Work of which he is not really enamored. He tails and photographs adulterers! While it has paid for his new house, this job '
stains his soul
'. He has nightmares about a man he killed two years previously. Daytime, his murdered wife haunts his every move. And the police chief would like nothing better than to put Rick behind bars, blaming him for his wife's death.
H
e is approached by a lawyer who wants Rick to help him overturn a murder conviction – a man who has spent eight years in prison for the vicious murder of his own mother, father, and younger sister. New evidence has surfaced. Rick is not too sure about the man's innocence but finally agrees to look into the case and possibly find reasons for a new trial. What ensues is a very good read.
