T
his is the second in the District Attorney Rachel Knight series. You may remember author Marcia Clark's name from the infamous O.J. Simpson trial in which she was lead prosecutor. With her knowledge of courtrooms and mysteries, this series should be a slam dunk.
A
mid office politics in the elite Special Trials Unit, Rachel Knight takes over the case of an unidentified homeless man whose murder appears to be unsolvable despite witnesses to the crime. Further research finds a possible connection to the vicious murder of an LAPD police officer a year earlier. The homeless man is eventually identified as the brother of the deceased cop, making the case that was going nowhere, extremely interesting and newsworthy. With the help of Detective Bailey Keller, Rachel follows leads that could put her life in danger.
R
achel is tough, savvy and fearless. The character of Detective Bailey Keller is a good addition to this series. She becomes a good friend and is an excellent backup to ride with Rachel Knight in her investigations. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
