eventeen-year-old Kami lives in suburban Iowa, doing all the things that teenagers do. She loves riding horses, martial arts, playing the flute, science, and acronyms. A few too many acronyms for my taste. But then I am not seventeen and texting every spare moment.
T
he title of
Chaos Theory
by M. Evonne Dobson refers to Kami's science project in which she is using her school locker to prove a scientific point. That point escapes me. But again I am not seventeen.
K
ami meets Daniel, whose younger sister died from a drug overdose. Daniel does not believe his sister was doing drugs and jumps on a chance to prove she did not commit suicide. Kami and her friends vow to help prove Daniel right. Their plotting and planning necessitates using a local college library as their meeting place. The eighth floor of the library that no one else uses gives private space that they call the
bat cave
.
K
ami's friends volunteer their time to prove Daniel's contention. Sandy and Sam, as well as giving enthusiastic help, also happen to be dating. Gavin is another willing worker. Author Dobson works the local riding stables into the plot and adds a thrilling scene in the stables that will have you holding your breath. You can almost feel the horses' frightened breaths on the back of your neck.

ith
Chaos Theory
, this first-time author presents a new series that will feature Kami and, I assume, her group of friends. Should you get into trouble, they would be good ones to have on your side.
