J
ason Stafford was once a Wall Street trader. He spent two years in a federal prison and now works as a financial investigator. His ex-wife Angie was murdered by South American drug cartel thugs, while protecting their son. He's now in a relationship with Wanda Tyler who's in the process of opening a health clinic.
Long Way Down
is the third episode in a series that follows Jason's exploits.
J
ason loves his autistic six-year-old son Jason (whom he calls the
Kid
) deeply but caring for him is a constant challenge. I must say that I enjoyed their interactions even more than I did the convoluted financial puzzles that Jason has to solve in this episode. It begins when he's asked to investigate Philip Haley, '
CEO of Arinna Labs and an early wunderkind in the field of bioengineering
'. It looks like Haley will soon be charged with insider trading. He claims innocence and Jason tends to believe him, though the evidence is against him.
B
ut evidence can be manufactured as Jason proves with the help of paranoid technical geek McKenna. He even finds out who did it, but then the killings start - and Jason is one of the targets. Unfortunately those after him have access to extraordinary power and resources and are almost impossible to hide from. Will Jason Stafford '
have to play Jason Bourne
'?
I
t's an exciting financial thriller with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader guessing, and Jason's interactions with his loved ones (especially the Kid) add the human element. A series worth following.
