ans of this lively and entertaining series are finally getting their hands on Dom and Jane's story, the pair having loved each other since their teens. Due to the machinations of Dom's elder brother George however, they were forced to part ways.

ane Vernon is well aware that Dom had neatly orchestrated their separation years before with the help of her well meaning cousin Nancy. Jane had long ago forgiven her cousin but Dom's pride and stubbornness have kept them apart for over a decade as he worked hard to restore his honor and reputation, first as a Bow Street runner and then as head of Manton Investigations. Jane is not prepared to wait any longer for Dom to come to his senses; she wants a family and will soon walk down the aisle with another. But when Nancy vanishes, Jane knows the only man who can unravel the mystery surrounding her disappearance is Dom.

om agrees to take on the case but is very unhappy when Jane insists on working with him to find Nancy. He has been more out of sorts than usual since learning of his former fiancée's impending nuptials and even more annoyed with himself over his uncontrollable attraction toward her. To have Jane working at his side is sheer madness, a fact that he repeatedly points out to his amused siblings and colleagues.

ane will not be deterred so what choice has Dom but to give in to the chase, and in short order to the fascinating and maddening woman Jane has become. This time he vows that once Nancy's convoluted mystery is solved he and Jane will never part ways again.

effries never fails to tell a good story and this eagerly awaited conclusion to
The Duke's Men
adventures is no exception. Plenty of humorous situations, and two hotly attracted leads who eventually throw decorum and long-suffering patience out the window add to the fun of
