Especially if you are an exotic dancer and have to wear a brace attached with screws to your skull to support your head, because you were the one who slipped on a banana peel! Cookie is the most popular dancer at Jingles Dance Bonanza – but her act is truncated because of this stupid head brace. Tug Wyler reconnects with an old friend at Jingles and quickly realizes that the man Cookie is living with and who is taking care of her is not really what he purports to be. Something is out of kilter here and it's not just Cookie's head. (Incidentally, Tug Wyler's wife's first name is Tyler!) Tug is reconnected to Cookie by a mutual friend who hopes that Tug can help Cookie with an insurance malpractice claim. Tug is a lawyer who always seems to end up with the unusual cases – at which he excels. It looks to Tug as though Cookie has the wrong representation for her claim of improper surgery. She could also use some help with the much older man she's hooked up with. Not unexpectedly, Tug has bitten off more than he should chew. Sinister factors hiding behind the scenes put both Cookie and Tug in jeopardy. Cookie's Case by Andy Siegel is a delightful tale that will take you to places you have probably not been before. But if you have, you don't want anyone there who will be able to identify you. This book proves that trust is a mighty sword and must not be given lightly. It often puzzles me that if all these sleazes are out there, I have not yet met even one of them ... I think.
