he movie feel is played up by the second half of the story taking place in the entertainment industry in Hollywood during its heyday. But the story is not about Hollywood, or even murder;

revolves around the relationship between the gutsy widow Elsie and her resentful daughter Annie. These two have grown apart over the course of at least a decade, but what finally brings them together is something no one could have foreseen.
