A fast paced, gripping read, Blond Cargo is hauntingly disturbing with terrifyingly real scenarios. Perhaps that is why I did not care for this novel.

Private investigator Jack Bertolino is suddenly very busy. He has been called in to repay a favor to deadly mafia boss Vincent Cardona. Cardona's estranged daughter Angelica has gone missing. And two bodies of women who resemble Angelica have been found.

Fearing a connection between the dead women and Angelica, Jack must work quickly to find Cardona's missing daughter. But that is hard to do when there is a contract out on Jack's life and he must also deal with his relationships with his ex-wife, current girlfriend, and troubled son.

In the search for Angelica, Jack finds himself embroiled in more mystery as he uncovers a sex trade ring with a sheik at the center of the scandal. Has Angelica been kidnapped and sold into the flesh trade like many other girls? Or is hers the fate of the two recently murdered women?

I typically like murder mysteries but was very disturbed by this read. The story is a little too graphic for my taste in the description of the rape and murder of one of the women and the treatment of young girls sold into sex slavery. Although I know this is a fictional work, rape and the flesh trade do occur in real life and I suspect that is why this novel bothers me so much.
