To the rest of the world, Ted and Grace Chapman are the ideal couple. Ted is a very successful writer and Grace is beautiful, stylish, the perfect wife, taking care of Ted's life as he writes.

However, no one outside their home knows the torment Grace suffers. Ted's frequent rages – that can occur at the drop of a hat – keep her on alert at all times. These unfathomable outbursts disrupt their lives drastically. To top off Grace's unordered life, Ted's assistant must leave his employ to tend her very ill mother. Grace knows she cannot keep up with all the work that must be done to allow Ted to write.

A new assistant is very necessary. One falls into place accidentally and Grace is thrilled. Beth, with good references, is hired and soon has their lives in control. Too much in control? Soon, Grace realizes that she is having problems with her emotions, and psychiatric help is recommended.

For a short while, I had problems myself, thinking this was an old plot reworked. It seemed very familiar. But it soon took a very different turn as the pace picked up and suspense reared its head. Saving Grace almost had me talking to the pages as I raced through them to discover what would happen next. I had a lot to say to Beth and advice for Grace!

Saving Grace is the sixteenth novel by this author! That's a lot of writing. If practice makes perfect, we can always expect a good read from her.
