Not the most hospitable place during the winter, rural North Dakota is even less welcoming to Colleen Mitchell when she arrives in Lawton to search for her son, Paul, who has mysteriously disappeared. The young man was employed on one of the drilling rigs in the area and just didn't show up to work one day.

Colleen isn't in Lawton long before she meets another woman, Shay, whose son, Taylor has also vanished. The young men knew each other and their mothers will combine forces to try to break through the wall of silence about their disappearance.

The two women are as different as can be but they'll work together to solve this mystery, although only one of them will be reunited with her loved one. But because of the trying time they spend together, these two very different women create a bond that transcends even their ties to their own families.

An emotional novel with plenty of twists and peaks and valleys, The Missing Place will keep you riveted to the page from beginning to end.
