t's a really bad winter in New Hampshire, with snow and ice and frigid temperatures. Jay Porter is trying to keep his household afloat, as well as to provide for his two year-old son – the child's mother is Jay's ex-girlfriend.

ay gets a call from the sheriff's office saying that his brother Chris is being held for questioning about Chris's junkie business partner, who is missing. Chris has had it up to here with his brother's behavior. Rehab and then back on whatever drug is handy. Or liquor. Again and again. But Chris is his brother and Jay has always looked out for him. He can't stop now.
