Author Jenn Bennett's series has received high praise from prominent people such as bestselling author Ann Aguirre, who says of it, 'This book has it all: great writing, action, romance, a strong heroine, a unique hero, and the best teenager ever.' Cady's life is still complicated. Aside from her magical powers that are considered to be unnatural, and more brushes with death, Cady is having some serious issues with her mother. Dear old mom wants to take up residence in her daughter's body and possess her - permanently! Not wanting mom to move into her body, Cady finds herself researching her past along with the help of her boyfriend, Lon, and his son, Jupe. The trio learns that Cady has had many identities and the family secrets just keep getting darker and darker. Despite the high praise this novel has garnered, I still do not care for this urban fantasy series. Regardless of the strong character development and abundance of action, supernatural thrillers like this are just not my cup of tea.
