en years ago, Elizabeth Greer Templeton drove her brother and his girlfriend home from her brother's birthday party. She was fifteen and too young to be behind the wheel. But the other two were drunk and couldn't drive. Tragedy struck and her brother and girlfriend died. She lived, but at what a price.

he was accused of driving recklessly and was never forgiven. At the time of the accident, she was sure she saw headlights on her side of the road headed right for the car she was driving. But everyone claimed she was using that as an excuse to clear herself of blame for two deaths.

en years later, Elizabeth, now known as Greer, strives to live her life. Her aunt died and left her estate in Texas to Greer. The aunt and Greer had planned to start making wine, using the grapes they had been nurturing and selling to vineyards for years. Determined to make a success of their plans, Greer hosts a charity bash, hoping for publicity for her coming venture.

t one point after the accident, she went to a rehab center for kids who tried to commit suicide. She met and quickly bonded with others. Now it looks as though a rash of suicides have occurred amongst the individuals she met then. Greer becomes a suspect in the hanging of a man, first thought to be a suicide but later determined to have been murdered. Her photo is found nailed to the tree the man was hung from.

is the ninth novel for author Mary Burton. She certainly excels at her trade. What a good book, with enough suspense to keep you turning the pages.
