vy Halliwell may have extraordinary skills but so far her one-of-a-kind talents haven't been well accepted. Her last partner didn't trust her feline shifter nature and that mistrust got him killed. Her partnerships before that weren't exactly made in heaven either and the fallout has made it difficult for Ivy to place her trust in anyone. But when she's partnered with Special Forces Captain Landon Donovan she quickly comes to realise that not all hotshot military guys are cut from the same cloth.
L
andon Donovan isn't thrilled when he's pulled off his current mission and ordered to Washington to work for a secretive division of Homeland Security. His new partner is initially a puzzle as well; how could this petite, runway model type woman survive out in the field? He soon learns that first impressions are often misleading. Ivy kicks serious butt and takes no prisoners, a skill that comes in handy when terrorists kidnap biologists to further their nefarious schemes.
T
yler presents a lively and inventive plot here, not to mention two leads who work well off each other, particularly in the sizzling attraction department. An entertaining cast of secondary characters, some of whom will surely have their own stories in upcoming instalments, also adds to the snappy storyline.
