Shunned and Dangerous
by Laura Bradford is the book for you. If you are intrigued by the Amish way of life, this is definitely the book for you. Sort of a two-for-one.
W
hen Claire Weatherly steps into a corn maze on an Amish farm, she is simply seeking her way out of the popular fall pastime in Amish country. She is horrified to find a dead body, obviously murdered. The corpse is a well-liked and respected Amish man who was gentle, caring and ready to lend a hand when it was needed.
C
laire runs a gift shop that is just hanging on by a thread and lives with her Aunt Diane at her very popular B & B. She fears she may have to move on from the little town, Heavenly, Pennsylvania that she has grown to love. There is also Detective Jakob Fisher, whom she thinks she loves and believes loves her. Is she ready for married life?
A
s if life weren't hard enough, now she feels a responsibility to discover who could have murdered this lovely man. After all, she found him!
I
truly enjoyed the mystery with its well developed characters and a good sense of place. Although I have lived near the Amish population of Lancaster County almost my whole life, I didn't know as much as I thought I did about these peace-loving people.
Shunned and Dangerous
filled in blanks I never knew I had about the Amish themselves and their way of life.
