Arthur, married to his college love, Elizabeth, has it all: a wonderful wife and son and a prestigious job. But things are not as they seem. Arthur is found walking through Central Park sans clothing! Taken into custody by the police, Arthur relays the story of how his disturbing behavior came to be. However, his memories are as skewed as his behavior. He thinks he has cheated on his wife and even believes he has killed her, yet those events did not quite happen. Arthur is not remembering his past correctly. The disappointment of his son joining the military and being sent to Iraq instead of being Arthur's successor has caused Arthur to come unglued and lose touch with the reality of his world. Author Thomas Christopher Greene explores the effects a tragic loss has on self and family. Greene wrote this novel in response to his own grief during the loss of his baby daughter, born months too soon. A difficult yet gripping read, I found it very hard to put this book down.
