Returning from her home in Denver to North Georgia to bury her mother and settle her mother's estate rekindles all kinds of tumultuous feelings for Laura. Aside from dealing with the loss of her mother, Laura also reconnects with old friends and her old boyfriend. Soon enough, Laura finds herself embroiled in all sorts of mysteries. Why is Ardelle, her mother's best friend, still coming over to care for the cat while Laura is there? And is she responsible for stealing some of her mother's belongings? And now there are rumors that Laura's father, who committed suicide, is not only alive, but is nearby, watching Laura. The plot thickens and the mysteries get even deeper throughout this well written novel. Author Meg Moseley addresses issues that most of us face at some point in our lives, including complex relationships with family and friends, jealousy, and even Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome. I was hooked on this novel from page one. I found some aspects of the plot happily predictable and other aspects left me with my eyes popping out and my jaw dropping because I just didn't see them coming. If you enjoy immersing yourself in a great read, then this is the book for you!
