Their contaminated batch of vaccine somehow causes almost the entire class to become telepathic. They can read minds, which means they can also read each other's minds. When they realize what is happening, the group meets to decide whether they should report their reaction to their parents or the Center for Disease Control. Pi, a take-charge classmate, insists they shouldn't report it to anyone. They would never be believed and the result would be chaotic. Besides what's not to like about their situation? The wonderfully developed characters include: Pi, intelligent, top of the class, and ambitious; Olivia, quiet, shy beyond belief, somewhat of a hypochondriac with an OCD mother; Cooper, good looking, out-going, generous and happy, half of the sophomore class's golden couple; McKenzie, beautiful, sometimes a bitch, troubled and full of regret, the other half of the golden couple; and Tess, a good friend to McKenzie, slightly overweight if you believe her mother, in love with her second best friend, Teddy. With the power to read family, friends and stranger's minds comes more knowledge than they want in some cases. The class members weren't necessarily friends before the vaccine, but knowledge and understanding of each other quickly turns them into a close knit group. Mlynowski writes comedy well, but the book has plenty of touching moments. This is a great read with a possibility of a sequel.
