'. That must be so as her works are being published once again so that many more can enjoy her devilish plots and wonderful characters.

ith the old woman's death on his mind, Lord Peter Wimsey, along with his trusty manservant Bunter, sets out to investigate whether it was by nature or design. Miss Alexandra Katherine Climpson, who slips around the edges of a case and asks what seem to be innocuous questions, comes into her own in this episode. However, they are not irrelevant inquiries. She has a knack for delving into the heart of a case masquerading as a sweet, little old lady. She plays a big part in this adventure and it's fun to read of her manipulations of certain people under suspicion.
A
long with Wimsey and his partners in solving crimes, we travel from a small beautiful Hampshire village to a London flat. Sayers always adds the descriptive material necessary for her readers to easily visualize the countryside as well as the scene of the crime. Her wit is very evident throughout her books. She must have had great fun writing them.
