sher MacGregor is new to the position of Earl of Balfour (his family had believed him to be dead.) He has many obligations to fulfill, one of them being to introduce American heiress Hannah Cooper to society in order to find a husband.
W
hen they meet, he is quite surprised to find that they have shared views on marriage - neither is interested. Hannah is being forced by her stepfather to find a husband so that he can have full control over the money she is to inherit when she comes of age. But Hannah plans to thwart him, even if it means being compromised or causing a scandal. She is afraid for her family in Boston and wants to return home as soon as possible.
A
sher and Hannah end up stranded in a snowstorm on the moors for a night. Asher saves her life and becomes her hero. Hannah is attracted and wants to know him better. And she isn't the only one feeling something that night.
I
love romances in which independent characters come together in the name of love. I enjoyed it even more in
The MacGregor's Lady
as both are so set against getting married, yet fate has decided differently.
