M
olly Robbins worked for twelve years under Carver Danforthe's roof as a lady's maid to his sister. She never dreamed of asking the Earl of Everscham for a loan. Molly left a man at the altar of her home town to pursue her dream to design dresses for society's elite. The Earl made a deal with her before she left and now she wants to collect. Molly stands in his library early one morning with an unsigned contract, awaiting her destiny.
C
arver is very surprised to see Miss Molly Robbins so early in the morning with a contract in hand. He cannot believe that she remembers the promise he made to her. But something in Molly attracts the Earl and he wants to know her more throughly, even intimately. She is like no other woman - she speaks her mind, works hard and shows no fear. When he reads the contract she has prepared (which insists on no tomfoolery), he knows he has to have her. The Earl makes a new contract with a very sinful amendment - now how will he make her sign?
W
hat a fun read, the prim and proper character versus the rogue. But both have multilayered personalities that mesh flawlessly. The romance is fun to follow, with fire between the sheets and smoke in the aftermath. I look forward to more of Jayne Fresina's work.
