M
ilk Glass Moon
is the third in the
Big Stone Gap
series by Adriana Trigiani, following
Big Stone Gap
and
Big Cherry Holler
. They are all delightful books about family and relationships, the ups and downs of life, and how people handle both.
A
ve Maria MacChesney is married to Jack Mac. In
Milk Glass Moon
, we watch their daughter Etta grow up, and share Ave's trials and tribulations in raising her. Etta morphs from a sweet, clinging child to a young woman, seemingly overnight. And when Ave travels to Italy to visit her relatives, she runs into a handsome young man who makes her question her life choices.
I
va Lou, the Bookmobile lady in
Big Stone Gap
, has a hard choice of her own to make. And Spec, the EMT in that same novel, runs into health problems. Pearl meets her life mate and nothing seems the same for Ave. Maybe it's time to move on, make some changes, since the only absolute in her life is her friendship with Theodore.
T
his is an altogether delightful series with characters who could be your friends or neighbors - that is, if you lived in the mountains of Virginia.
