follows the action packed
Hidden
as the eleventh (penultimate) episode in the
House of Night
series by the mother and daughter writing team, P. C. and Kristin cast. Its main themes are empowerment through free will and of love.
T
he series is set in a world in which vampyres and humans coexist, though at times uneasily. Heroine Zoey Redbird, beloved of the Goddess Nyx, studies at the House of Night (a school for young vamps) in Tulsa and has an unusual affinity for all five elements. She is surrounded by a
nerd herd
of talented fellow students. The series villainess is High Priestess Neferet, now outed as having allied with Darkness - a recent novella,
Neferet's Curse
, reveals the back story that sent young Emily Wheiler down this shadowed path.
H
idden
ended with a violent confrontation, in which Neferet was (at least temporarily) defeated. She fell from a great height, but as the immortal Tsi Sgili, gradually regains strength and shape.
Revealed
opens on a House of Night campus fair, attended by
Tulsa
humans - and also by Neferet in spider form. When a fledgling dies suspiciously and the town Mayor (Aphrodite's father) is murdered, a police investigation ensues and High Priestess Thanatos complies with an official request to close the campus.
M
eanwhile Zoey struggles with her feelings for Aurox, triggered when he regularly manifests the soul of her beloved Heath in his speech and actions. She's also stressed by what's happening around her (after Dallas seeks revenge) and by Stark's possessive jealousy. And Aphrodite has a terrifyingly dark vision of what's ahead for Zoey that she decides to keep from her friend and High Priestess. As the plot - and Old Magick - thickens, readers are enlightened by more of Neferet's past memories.
R

ends on a shocking cliff-hanger for Zoey, one that will leave fans anxiously awaiting the
House of Night
series conclusion. How will Zoey get out of this tangled web, will Neferet finally get what she deserves, and what exactly does she deserve? We'll just have to wait to find out.
