Tapply's successful mystery series. Originally published in 1984, and then followed by two dozen other titles in the series, Death at Charity's Point sends Boston attorney Brady Coyne to nearby Ruggles Academy where George Gresham, the school's history teacher, had apparently committed suicide by jumping off the seaside cliff at Charity's Point. Gresham's mother, however, with plenty of grief already in her life because of the deaths of her husband and George's brother, is convinced that George would have never killed himself, and - as Coyne understands because of his past dealings with her - Florence Gresham is a woman who will not be contradicted. When Coyne starts digging through the evidence, he learns that George was living a more complicated life than his mother had suspected. Moreover, George's recent and inexplicable interest in rather recent American history, especially as it related to domestic terrorism, seems to have complicated the history teacher's life. Then, when he should have listened to the advice, Coyne makes the mistake of ignoring the medical examiner who had warned him, 'Don't trust anybody!' Well, readers, so that I can avoid giving away anything more (especially spoilers), I would close by simply saying that the bottom line is this: Death at Charity's Point is a very entertaining, highly recommended mystery.
