dam Hamdy's
Battalion
is an edge-of-your-seat thriller – or at least it would be if I could have gotten into the story. Set in the near future,
Battalion
concerns a terrorist strike meant to take out the United States economy. Scott Pierce is a rogue agent determine to infiltrate and annihilate the enemy, even if it means losing all protection from his country.
B
attalion
is full of action scenes, which are definitely Hamdy's strong point as they are what carry the story. Unfortunately, the characters are less than compelling, especially when Hamby lets us into the head of a character only to have them die a few pages later. Pierce is an interesting character, and perhaps if the whole story were from his point of view, the novel would have been more cohesive.
I
f you want action and a lot of things blowing up, then
Battalion
is for you. If you are looking for more, I suggest passing.
