series. Preacher has joined Wiley Courtland who is delivering horses to the American Fur Company at Fort Gifford. He's never heard of the fort on the Missouri River, but Preacher is ready for a change of scenery so he signs on for the trip.

n course, the trail runs through territory controlled by the Blackfoot tribe and Preacher's old adversary Red Knife. The trip to Fort Gifford is far from being a cakewalk, but Preacher and the horse traders make it only to discover their problems, are just beginning.

he beautiful wife of the fort's commander is more than just delighted to greet the strangers. Her wandering eye adds a complication to what is already a volatile situation.
