n April 9 of 1949 in Black Creek, Alabama, a little coal mining town just north of Birmingham, the two boys are accosted by a predator and coaxed into the man's truck. What ensued makes up the book that Boogie must write. The tale tells of the desperate plotting the boys must literally go through to come out of the situation alive. It's a tale that makes one realize just how evil someone can be. Of course, greed plays a large part. The reader cannot help but marvel at the two boys as they outwit their captor.
