Something happened to two boys over sixty years ago. Now it's time to write the book Boogie Smith promised his friend Trapp he would pen if Trapp died before Boogie. Trapp, wanting to be sure their story would be told after sixty years of silence, wrote Boogie just before his death to remind him of the promise they made to each other so many years before.

Boogie, though mourning the loss of his childhood friend, is reluctant to carry out the promise. But he feels honor bound to write the story. Neither of the boys, who sealed their pact by mixing their blood, were anxious to reveal their dark secret.

On April 9 of 1949 in Black Creek, Alabama, a little coal mining town just north of Birmingham, the two boys are accosted by a predator and coaxed into the man's truck. What ensued makes up the book that Boogie must write. The tale tells of the desperate plotting the boys must literally go through to come out of the situation alive. It's a tale that makes one realize just how evil someone can be. Of course, greed plays a large part. The reader cannot help but marvel at the two boys as they outwit their captor.

The Boogie Trapp is a thriller that keeps the pages turning. Hard to put down. And it's a first novel that shows no signs of a first novelist.
